I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, The University of Manchester (UoM), United Kingdom, under the supervision of Dr. Zhonghua Zheng (Assistant Professor in Data Science & Environmental Analytics) and Prof. David Topping (Professor of the Digital Environment, UoM; Fellow of the Alan Turing Data Science Institute).

I earned my Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering (2023) from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS, China), hosted by Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) (one of the premier research units for ecology and environmental scientific research), under the supervision of Prof. Dongsheng Wang (2022- Zhejiang University, China). Before that, I received my B.Eng. in Environmental Engineering (2020) from China University of Mining and Technology-Beijing (CUMTB, China).

My research focuses on the application of Data sciences, Reinforcement Learning/Optimization, and Data-Driven modeling to address practical environmental challenges, particularly in the realm of intelligent urban adaptation and urban climate modeling.

If you are interested in the topics above and would like to engage in a discussion, please feel free to reach out to me via email at (junjie.yu AT postgrad DOT manchester DOT ac DOT uk). (English, Mandarin, Cantonese)
